Dentoprosthetic rehabilitation
The Prosthetics (Dentoprosthetic rehabilitation) describes a dental specialty that deals with the replacement or restoration of missing teeth as well as
the "dressing" of the existing teeth. This includes all measures from the planning and technical production to the integration of dental prostheses and teeth. In principle, a distinction is made between a fixed prosthesis such as crowns or bridges and a removable prosthesis in the form of a partial or complete prosthesis.
Even in case of a total loss of all teeth in the upper and / or lower jaw, the so-called full prosthesis can provide optimal replacement. Dental treatment uses the so-called joint prosthesis that completely replaces the teeth and bones of the jaw. As a dental material, plastics or porcelain are usually used, which are anchored in a soft plastic base. The complete prosthesis is firmly attached to the jaw by suction.
